Old Burial Ground Haunting Workers
-
Description
-
During construction of the Martin Luther King Hospital at 26th and Garfield, coffins and grave stones were unearthed suggesting the location was a former cemetery. John Ratterman of the Kansas City-St. Joseph Catholic diocese said that the old Saint Peter and Paul cemetery used to include this area. Burials supposedly stopped about 1923 and the bodies remaining in the cemetery were moved to the Mount St. Mary's Cemetery at 2201 Cleveland.
