Richard Nadeau who died August 5, 2010, "is remembered as 'a crazy, eccentric, wonderful fighter' for real art." Article includes a picture of Nadeau and one of the many artworks given to the Spencer Museum of Art by Nadeau, a 1983 watercolor by Janice Atkins, called "Self-Portrait in a T.V. Set #1." Nadeau was a former Municipal Art Commissioner, a "member of the Nelson's Society of Fellows for more than 20 years, and a major supporter of the Spencer Museum of Art in Lawrence, where he served on the advisory board."

Uplifted Arms by Davin Watne and Dylan Mortimer "includes 16 life-sized aluminium figures inspired by Metro riders". The project is situated at the downtown transit mall, 10th and Main.

In "The Watchdog" column is featured some of the large sculpture pieces on the grounds of Kansas City International Airport. These pieces known as "Three Figures/Fifteen Elements" by artist Joel Shapiro have been in a median at the airport for over 10 years. They are part of the One Percent for Art Program. They are not depictions of baseball players as one person wrote but rather depict motionless to motion.

The City Council agreed to a $1 million city contract for new public art at the Bartle Hall ballroom expansion. A Japanese-American artist named Jun Kaneko was awarded the contract. His concept includes sculptural pots on a striped outdoor plaza. This is part of the city's One Percent for Art program. The winner, Mr. Kaneko, who lives in Omaha, was selected from among 156 artists and seven finalists. The two council members who voted against this selection were Bill Skaggs and Bonnie Sue Cooper.
