Kugel Ball Fountain

The Kugel Ball Fountain was installed in 1997 at the Kansas City Life Insurance headquarters, 3520 Broadway. The design is a perfectly balanced, highly polished sphere of granite that floats and spins on a thin film of water. The ball is made of red granite from India and measures nearly three feet in diameter. The Kugel, a German word for ball or sphere, was made by Kusser Granitwerke of Aicha, Germany.
