Dr. Rodgers was also "a partner in group practice at the Doctors clinic" at 2701 East 31st Street as well as a staff member at Menorah, Research, and St. Mary's Hospitals. His residence was at 3405 Quincy Avenue.

The Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center is planning to build a new $20 million facility to replace their current clinic located at 825 Euclid Avenue. Part of the money to build is to come from the state and the new clinic will be built on property just to the north. The health center provides inner-city health care and in 2006 saw more than 17,000 patients. "The health center was founded in 1968 by the late Samuel U. Rodgers, one of six doctors who formed the first black group practice in the United States and a pioneer in the integration of medical facilities in Kansas City."
